Insurance cover
Psychologiepraktijk Michiel Eebes provides Generalist Basic Mental Health Care (GB-GGZ). This care is part of the Dutch basic health insurance (basisverzekering) and is reimbursed by your health insurer — you do not need supplementary insurance.
For 2026, the practice has contracts with Menzis (including Anderzorg), Zilveren Kruis and the other Achmea labels (including FBTO, Interpolis and De Friesland), a.s.r. (including Ditzo) and Aevitae (via Caresq). If you are insured with one of these insurers, the practice bills your insurer directly and you will not receive an invoice.
If your insurer is not contracted, you will receive the invoice yourself. Depending on your policy, part of it will be reimbursed. Not sure whether your insurance falls under one of the contracted insurers, or would you like to know what the options are? Feel free to get in touch.
Compulsory deductible (eigen risico)
Mental health care is subject to the compulsory deductible (in 2026: € 385). This also applies to contracted care. Whether you pay any deductible depends on how much of it you have already used that year.
Referral
For mental health care covered by insurance, you need a referral letter from your GP (huisarts) or a medical specialist. Please bring it to your first appointment.
What care is not covered?
Reimbursement from the basic health insurance is only possible when there is a mental disorder according to the DSM-5, such as a depressive disorder, an anxiety disorder or PTSD. Problems that do not fall under this — such as burnout, work stress, relationship problems or grief — are not covered under the Dutch Health Insurance Act (Zorgverzekeringswet). More information about which care is and is not covered can be found at Zorginstituut Nederland (in Dutch).
You are still welcome to come to me with these problems, but treatment will then be at your own expense. In that case, no referral letter is needed and no diagnosis is registered. For this I charge the NZa (Dutch Healthcare Authority) rates for generalist basic mental health care 2026: € 200.99 for assessment (60 minutes) and € 177.89 for a 60-minute treatment session. Feel free to get in touch to discuss the options.
Missed or late-cancelled appointments
Appointments that are missed or cancelled less than 24 hours in advance may be charged. A fee of € 75 applies. These costs are not reimbursed by your health insurer.
