My name is Michiel Eebes (1985). I live in Haren and I am the father of a son and a daughter.
As a healthcare psychologist (GZ-psycholoog), I work with methods whose value has been scientifically proven — cognitive behavioural therapy, ACT, EMDR and schema therapy. That is the foundation. Beyond that, I like to draw inspiration from philosophy, which has been reflecting for thousands of years on exactly the questions people bring into my consulting room.
As a therapist I am open, honest and down-to-earth. I use humour to create a relaxed and safe atmosphere in which we can look together at what works for you. Much of what troubles us is not only about symptoms, but about how we relate to our lives: what we can change, and what we may learn to carry. Life is far less within our control than we like to tell ourselves — and accepting that often brings more peace than continuing to push.
That is why therapy with me does not always have to be heavy. Panta rhei: everything flows, nothing stays the same. My aim is not to fix you, but to find, together with you, a little more space and calm in the way life simply goes.
